I was brought back studio-side to lead a small group of artists in exploring a few creative conceits.
First idea- How to visually represent the Multiverse in a way that we can embrace and celebrate it’s visual variety. There was so much to explore here; the team had a lot of fun diving into established iconic looks and seeing how we can represent them in the game. We also jumped into creating entirely new multiverses of our own. The artwork here is all exploration work and not meant to represent any final art. We were very much in the exploration phase before we made a pivot to the next project.
Aside from Art Directing the group, I had opportunities for:
Concept creation for some Multiverse characters.
Exploring shape language in zbrush.
Modelling characters and experimenting with materials/shaders.
JUSTICE LEAGUE UNBOXED.
Second idea- We pivoted our group to exploring the concept of representing our characters in toy sized collectable format, placing them in a real world setting. This approach gave us room to push character design through shape language, proportions, and materials, while also exploring environments and potential gameplay moments at the new scale. The team was very inspired by the new direction and we gained much creative momentum during this time.
Aside from Art Directing the group, I had opportunities for:
